TULARE Using a 13-3 run in the second quarter, Hitchcock-Tulare pulled away for a 45-25 victory against Langford Area on Saturday.

Gracyn Bixler and Cambree Hoekman each had 11 points to lead Hitchcock-Tulare, which improved to 2-1. Isabel Gilbert and Emmerie Arthurs added nine and eight points, respectively.

Paytyn Marlow had 10 points Langford Area.

Hitchcock-Tulare faces Kadoka Area at 6 p.m., on Jan. 2 at the Big Bo Classic in Wolsey. Langford Area travels to play Wilmot on Friday.

HOWARD With three players in double figures, Wessington Springs recorded a 48-37 victory against Howard on Saturday.

The Lady Spartans built a 13-5 lead in the opening quarter and led 29-15 at the half.

They capped the effort with a 22-13 run in the final quarter.

Kerstynn Heim had 16 points to lead Wessington Springs, which improved to 3-2.

Addy Orth and Kenzie Kolousek added 11 points each.

Ann Connor had 19 points to lead Howard.

Wessington Springs returns to action Jan. 4 at Highmore-Harrold

Howard will face Kimball/White Lake in the Huron Holiday Classic at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Huron Arena.

Highmore-Harrold 51, Faulkton Area 41
HIGHMORE – The Highmore-Harrold Pirates used a 15-7 first quarter to establish a lead and never looked back, defeating the Faulkton Area Trojans 51-41 Saturday.

Elle Stag led the Pirates, now 3-1, with 16 points, including four three-pointers. Jada Baloun scored 14 points and had six rebounds, three assists and six steals for Highmore-Harrold.

Highmore-Harrold is next in action on Jan. 3 at Iroquois to play Iroquois/Lake Preston.

Hitchcock-Tulare 52, Langford Area 40
TULARE Hitchcock-Tulare held Langford Area scoreless in the fourth quarter to rally for a 52-40 victory Saturday.

Langford Area led 16-6 after the opening quarter and carried a 29-18 lead into the second half. Hitchcock-Tulare outscored the Lions 17-11 in the third quarter to cut its deficit to 40-35 heading into the final quarter.

Devin Enander finished with a game-high 22 points to lead the Patriots, while Patrick Maynard also reached double figures with 14 points. Deegan Moes added eight points.

Kassen Keough had 17 points to lead Langford Area, which is now 0-3.

Hitchcock-Tulare will face Potter County at 1:30 p.m., on Jan. 2 at the Big Bo Classic in Wolsey. Langford Area will face Burke at noon on Dec. 30 in the Huron Holiday Classic at Huron Arena.

IROQUOIS Elkton-Lake Benton held on for a 59-54 win to secure its first victory of the season on Friday against Iroquois/Lake Preston.

Colt Beck had 17 points to lead three players in double figures for the Elks, who are now 1-1. Tanner Stein and Tanner Drietz added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Lucas Peskey had a game-high 23 points for Iroquois/Lake Preston, which is now 1-2. Daunte Galzner had 10 points, while Ryne Greene added eight points.

Green also had team-high 10 rebounds for the Sharks.

Both teams return to action Saturday at the Entringer Classic in Brookings. Iroquois/Lake Preston plays Oldham-Ramona-Rutland at 1:30 p.m., while Elkton-Lake Benton plays Waverly-South Shore at 6 p.m.

HURON James Valley Christian earned its second win in as many games this season with a 55-32 victory against Sunshine Bible Academy on Friday in a 281 Conference matchup.

Tayne Herrmann and Jerrad Wallman each had 19 points to lead JVC. Jayven Van Scharrel added seven points.

Wallman had a team-high nine rebounds for the Vikings. Gavin Waldner had four assists and Noah Fast had four steals.

Owen Watson and Jacob Hadden each had nine points for SBA.

Jerome Big Eagle pulled down 10 rebounds for the Crusaders, who are now 0-3, whileTrey Thieman had three assists and Watson had three steals.

James Valley Christian will face Lyman at 3 p.m., on Dec. 30 in the Huron Holiday Classic at Huron Arena. SBA is now off until hosting Wessington Springs on Jan. 9.
