MITCHELL The Huron gymnastics teams finished the 2024 portion of its schedule with a 12th-place finish at the Jill McCormick Invitational on Saturday.
Harrisburg used a score of 150.350 to edge Mitchell Black, which had 150.200, for the top spot. Watertown was third at 138.800, followed by Mitchell Gold at 136.675 and Brookings at 133.475.
The Tigers finished with 118.200,.
Im proud of the girls for adding some new difficulties in their routines. They had a good meet to end 2024, Huron coach Julie King said.
Christmas break will be a time to work on some polishing and news skills for the new year.
Bentley Bates of Mitchell won the all-around title with 38.050. She used a score of 9.600 to win and individual title on the beam.
Ellie Puterbaugh led Huron in the all-around with 30.650 points, which put her 36th. She was followed by teammates Alivia Cunard at 29.400 and Maiya Hein at 29.225.
Puterbaugh turned in a score of 8.700 to finish 19th on the vault. She also led Tigers with an 8.250 in the floor exercise.
Cunard recorded an 8.350 to finish tied for 36th on the beam, while Maria Wilson had Hurons top score of 6.700 on the bars, which placed her in a tie for 57th.
Huron will return to action Jan. 6 with a triangular in Madison.
