All Stars come up empty during pair of games

HURON With four goals in the second period, Mitchell recorded an 8-2 victory against the Huron All-Stars on Saturday at Bergman Arena.

Each team put a goal on the board in the opening period.

The Marlins scored first, but the All-Stars answered with a goal by Jace Bales. Skyler Casper-Houghtaling and Mason Hunter assisted on the play.

Two of the four goals for Mitchell in the second period came on power plays.

Carlos Ardon capped the scoring for Huron in the second period with an unassisted goal.

After taking a 5-2 lead during the second period, the Marlins added three goals in the final period.

Jack Bales had 35 saves in the net for the All-Stars.

On Sunday, Oahe used four goals in the third period to secure a 7-3 victory against Huron.

The Capitals had the lone goal of the opening period, but the All-Stars scored the first three goals of the second period to take a 3-1 lead.

Mason Hunter opened the scoring with an unassisted goal for Huron.

Monte Bogh had the second goal for the All-Stars on a pass from Jack Pedersen.

Hunter tallied his second goal of the game just 15 seconds after Boghs goal. He was assisted on the play by Casper-Houghtaling.

With six unanswered goals, Oahe rallied to claim the win.

Bales stopped 42 of the 50 shots he faced in the net for Huron.

The All-Stars will host Yankton at 5 p.m. Saturday at Bergman Arena.
