Kids Korner (Birth Grade 3)
The Kids Korner is thrilled to kick off the new year with exciting opportunities for young readers and their families! Join us for engaging Storytime sessions, creative Afterschool Activities, and interactive Family Fun events. Our childrens area, located on the north end of the library, features an extensive collection of books and interactive play areas.
Coming soon: our quarterly reading challenge! Participants who complete the challenge will earn a fun prize. Visit the Kids Korner to explore, play, and pick up a calendar to plan your next adventure with us.
Tweens and Teens (Grades 4 12)
Tweens and teens are invited to dive into creativity with two new craft activities this month:
Saturday, Jan. 4: Learn the basics of painting a sunflower using a toothbrush.
Thursday, Jan. 9: Create a unique resin dish to take home.
Additionally, celebrate National Blueberry Pancake Day with us on Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 4 to 4:45 p.m. Enjoy blueberry pancakes while supplies last a delicious treat to warm up your winter afternoon!

Escape Room: Break-In Challenge! Solve the mystery of your favorite authors disappearance! Join us on Jan. 16 and 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. Register for a time slot with a group of four, or join a team. Can you crack the codes and break in before time runs out?
Coffee Chat: Connect with local leaders in our Coffee Chat Series

Aging Well Series Workshop: Exercise Why It Matters! Join us on Jan. 15 at 10 a.m. for a ZOOM Watch Party at the library. This workshop, presented by Dr. Joseph Rees, DO (Geriatric and Internal Medicine, Avera Health) and the SDSU and NDSU extension offices, will explore the importance of exercise throughout your life, especially as you age. Learn how regular physical activity can help you live more safely and independently, as well as the benefits of various exercise types and tips for incorporating them into your daily routine.
The library will open at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 9 for staff training. The library will be closed on Jan. 1 for New Years Day and Jan. 20 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
