White River 40, Potter County 32
After opening a big lead early in the game, the White River Lady Tigers saw the Potter County Lady Battlers work all the way back to a tie game in the third quarter before a big final quarter secured a 40-32 win in the opening game of the Big Bo Classic Thursday in Wolsey.

The Tigers move to 6-1 behind 11 points apiece from Maleena Brave and Leah Carr. Skyler Krogman added eight points.

The Battlers fall to 1-4. Emma Schlachter netted nine points to lead Potter County. Schlachter was also selected for the sportsmanship award in the game.

White River hosts New Underwood Saturday while Potter County will play Leola/Frederick Area at Hoven.

Potter County 62, Hitchcock-Tulare 49
The Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots fought back from a 21-point deficit at the end of the third quarter, but the difference was too much to make up, as the Potter County Battlers defeated the Patriots 62-49 Thursday in the Big Bo Classic.

The Battlers move to 2-4 behind 20 points from Jhett Simon. Landon Larson pitched in 14 and Jerand Chase and Jaxon Krause each added nine.

The Patriots (1-3) were led by Patrick Maynard with a game-high 22. Devin Enander added 12.

The Battlers host Leola/Frederick Area at Hoven Saturday while the Patriots are back in action Tuesday, hosting Iroquois/Lake Preston in Hitchcock.

Wolsey-Wessington 59, Waverly-South Shore 27
Behind a game-high 21 points from Shae Uttecht, Wolsey-Wessington recorded a 59-17 victory against Waverly-South Shore.

The Lady Warbirds led 19-6 after the opening quarter and carried a 29-15 advantage into the second half.

Wolsey-Wessington then was able to stretch its advantage in the final two quarters.
Also reaching double figures for the Lady Warbirds were Maria Nelson and Kendal Uttecht with 10 points each. Kenli Hooks added nine points.

Annie Stricherz had seven points to lead Waverly-South Shore, while Dashaya Koch and Carlee Mushitz each had five points.

Wolsey-Wessington plays at Faulkton Area on Saturday.

Northwestern outscored Bennett County 18-6 in the second quarter en route to a 60-39 victory on Thursday at the Big Bo Classic.

After holding a 50-37 advantage heading into the fourth quarter, the Wildcats limited Bennett County to just two points in the final eight minutes of play.

Jack Hansen had 16 points to lead three players in double figures for Northwestern. Ty Boekelheide and Jarren Haven each had 10 points, while Carson Ewalt added nine points.

Caysen Suderlin had 16 points for Bennett County, while Rush ONeill added seven points.

The Kadoka Area Kougars jumped out to a 25-6 lead after the first quarter and never looked back en route to a 70-41 victory over the Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots in Big Bo Classic action Thursday in Wolsey.

The Kougars remain unbeaten on the season at 5-0 behind 24 points from Bella Williams and 22 points from Shaylee Porch. Breely Amiotte and Charlee Richardson each added 11 points.

The Lady Patriots fall to 2-3. Katelyn Schroeder led the team with 12 points and Isabel Gilbert added 10.

The Kougars will host Lead-Deadwood Saturday. The Lady Patriots are off until Tuesday, when they will host Iroquois/Lake Preston in Hitchcock.

The Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds closed out the Big Bo Classic Thursday in Wolsey with a 68-62 victory over the Kadoka Area Kougars.
