MILLER The Miller/Highmore-Harrold Bandits girls wrestling team hosted teams from across the state on Friday in Miller, with multiple Heartland teams faring well.
Rapid City Stevens would win the team title with 84.5 points, edging out the host Bandits, who tallied 82. Clark/Willow Lake finished third with 53 team points.
Doland totaled 36 team points while Wessington Springs/Woonsocket/Wolsey-Wessington had 20 points.
Kadee Frankfurth of Clark/Willow Lake took first place at 107 pounds and Kyla Logan won the 132-pound title to lead the placewinners among area wrestlers.
Taking second place in their weight classes were Hailey Schafer of Miller/Highmore-Harrold at 100 pounds, Bailey Yost of WS/W/WW at 114, Dana Wallace of M/HH at 120, M/HHs Gabby Werdel at 138, and Reganne Miles of Doland at 165 pounds.
Third place finishers included Hadley Gjerde of Clark/Willow Lake and the Cyclones Cadence Bochek at 120 along with M/HHs Hanna Zeigler at 132.
Taking fourth place among Heartland wrestlers were C/WLs Emma Bochek at 107 pounds, Mohrgan Werdel of M/HH at 126, and M/HHs Kyler Foreman at 165.
