HURON The pairings have been set for the 281 Conference Girls and Boys Basketball Tournaments, which begin Thursday and Friday, respectively, in Wolsey.
Sanborn Central/Woonsocket holds the top seed for the girls tournament and will face No. 8 James Valley Christian in the opening game at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
Fourth-seeded Wessington Springs will face No. 5 Wolsey-Wessington at 5 p.m., followed by second-seeded Highmore-Harrold against No. 7 Sunshine Bible Academy at 6:30 p.m., and third-seeded Hitchcock-Tulare against No. 6 Iroquois/Lake Preston at 8 p.m.
Wolsey-Wessington is the top seed for the boys tournament and will face No. 8 Sunshine Bible Academy at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
Fourth-seeded Iroquois/Lake Preston will play No. 5 James Valley Christian at 5 p.m., followed by second-seeded Wessington Springs against No. 7 Hitchcock-Tulare at 6:30 p.m., and third-seeded Sanborn Central/Woonsocket against No. 6 Highmore-Harrold at 8 p.m.
The semifinals for both tournaments will be held Jan. 20 at Huron Arena. The first girls game is slated for 3:30 p.m., followed by the first boys game at 5 p.m. The final girls game is slated for 6:30 p.m., with the final boys game to follow at 8 p.m.
The same time scheduled will be followed for the consolation semifinals, which will be held Monday at the JVC gym.
The final round of both tournaments will be held Jan. 23 at Huron Arena. The seventh-place girls game will kick the day off at 9 a.m. The girls championship game is slated for 6 p.m., followed by the boys title game at 7:30 p.m.
