Oldham-Ramona-Rutland 52, James Valley Christian 38
HURON Oldham-Ramona-Rutland earned its second with of the season Tuesday with a 52-38 victory against James Valley Christian.

JVC led 11-4 after the opening quarter, but trailed 25-22 at the half. The Raiders extended teir lead to 43-32 heading into the final quarter.

Bailey Hyland had a game-high 24 points to lead ORR, which is now 2-7. Brynlee Lingbeck also reached double figures with 12 points.

Janiyah Waldner led JVC with 14 points, while Rylin Wipf and Addison Kleinsasser added 10 and nine points, respectively.

The Lady Vikings, who are now 0-6, will open the 281 Conferenced Tournament with a 3:30 p.m., game against top-seeded Sanborn Central on Thursday in Wolsey.

WOONSOCKET Sanborn Central/Woonsocket, which was tied for fifth in the latest Class B girls basketball rankings, recorded a 60-22 victory against Kimball/White Lake on Tuesday.

Liz Boschee had 20 points to lead the Lady Blackhawks, who improved to 6-2, Kaylie Robinson reached the 1,000-point milestone and finished with 12 points, while Alexa Goertz added 10 points.

Boschee and Robinson shared the rebounding honors for Sanborn Central/Woonsocket with five boards each. Robinson also had five assists and four steals, while Boschee had four steals.

Rylee McCord led Kimball/White Lake, which is now 4-6 with nine points. Kyza Johnson had six rebounds, while Summer Skluzak had three assists.

The Lady Blackhawks carry the top seed into the 281 Conference Tournament and will face No. 8 James Valley Christian in the opening round at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Wolsey. Kimball/White Lake plays at Gregory on Thursday.

De Smet 59, Iroquois/Lake Preston 31
LAKE PRESTON Behind a game-high 29 points from Hazel Luethmers, De Smet recorded a 59-31 victory against Iroquois/Lake Preston on Monday.

The Lady Bulldogs led 12-2 after the first quarter and carried a 26-10 lead into the second half.

Audi Currier also reached double figures for De Smet, which is now 6-3, with 14 points. Alyssa Asleson added eight points.

Chenoa Harris and Hadlee Holt each had 10 points for Iroquois/Lake Preston, which is now 2-7. Skyla Harris added six points.

Iroquois/Lake Preston will face Hitchcock-Tulare in the opening round of the 281 Conference Tournament at 8 p.m. Thursday in Wolsey.

HURON The James Valley Christian Vikings outscored the Oldham/Ramona-Rutland Raiders 43-20 in the second and third quarters to build a big lead, finishing out with a 68-39 victory Tuesday at the JVC gym.

The Vikings (3-3) were led by Jerrad Wallman with 26 points. Tayne Herrmann added 14 and Jayven Van Scharrel added 13, including four three-point baskets apiece.

The Raiders fell to 0-8 despite a big effort from Boyd Pooler, who had 18 points.

The Vikings will battle Iroquois/Lake Preston in the opening round of the 281 Conference tournament Friday in Wolsey.

REDFIELD After a high-scoring first quarter, the Miller Rustlers pulled away in the second period en route to a 74-45 victory over the Redfield Pheasants in Redfield on Tuesday.

Miller moves to 4-4 behind 24 points each from Isaak Hunter and Will Resel. Derek Bruggeman added 10.

Hunter and Resel each had seven rebounds.

Redfield falls to 0-5 despite 23 points from Ruben Alvarez. Grady Hulscher added 10 points. Ethan Falk hauled in six rebounds to pace the Pheasants.

Miller took the junior varsity game, 41-34.

The Pheasants will host Milbank Thursday while Miller will host Sully Buttes.

WOONSOCKET The Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks had a strong defensive first half, holding the Kimball/White Lake WiLdKats to just 10 points on the way to a 49-34 victory for the Blackhawks Tuesday in Woonsocket.

The Blackhawks move to 5-3 behind 12 points from Payton Uecker and 11 points for McCoy Shultz. Bryce Larson and Grant Edwards led the way with eight rebounds apiece.

Larson added five assists and five steals.

No individual statistics were available for Kimball/White Lake, who falls to 1-7.

The Blackhawks won the JV game, 49-20 and will next be in action on Friday as the 281 Conference tournament kicks off in Wolsey.
