HURON Travis Decker, age 44, of Huron, passed away at his residence.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:30 p.m., Monday, January 20, at the Nordby Exhibit Hall on the South Dakota State Fairgrounds.
Visitation with family present will be held from 2-3:30 p.m., Monday at the Nordby Exhibit Hall.
Travis Jerald Decker, the son of Alan Dean Decker and Patricia Eileen (Moes) Decker, was born June 30, 1980. He attended schools and graduated from Huron High School. Travis worked at various factories during his time in Yankton. Upon moving back to Huron, Travis began working for one of the local grain elevators. He also worked at Hursts Corner for a time, a job he thoroughly enjoyed.
Travis liked playing darts and even won a few tournaments. Travis cherished his time as a wrestler during his high school years and continued to follow the sport even after graduation. His favorite team to follow was the SDSU wrestling team. Travis enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping and boating. His favorite football team was the Buffalo Bills. Travis treasured the time spent with his many nieces and nephews.
Grateful for having shared in Travis life are his mother, Patricia Decker of Huron; one brother, Charles (Amie) Decker of Carpenter; three sisters: Melissa (Oscar Luque) Decker of Huron, Jennifer Decker of Mitchell and Anna (Dustin) Walraven of Watertown; twelve nieces and nephews, Chayton, Patrick, Gracelynn, Kasandra, Orieana, Malcolm, Alexis, Alycia, Aliyah, Leo, Lily, Levi; four grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Leilani, Josiah, Gianna and Onika; his aunts and uncles, Theresa (Denis) Drake, Greg (Julie) Moes, Jim (Kathy) Moes, Sue (Tom) Beaudry, John (Donita) Moes, Joe (Karla) Moes, Laurie (Thomas) Chipman, Michele Hard, and Jeff (Lynnette) Moes; and numerous cousins.
Travis was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gerald and Eileen Moes and Richard and Anna Decker; his father, Alan Decker; one nephew, Owen Eaglestar; one uncle, Leonard Decker; one aunt, Peggy Moes; four cousins, Dana Beaudry, Nichol Moes Lotzer, Gary Moes and Scott Moes; and one great-cousin, Brittany Corcoran.
