281 Conference consolation match ups set

JVC and Highmore-Harrold to play for boys’ 281 consolation championship
HURON The James Valley Christian Vikings came out hot, putting up 27 points in the first quarter on the way to a 73-44 victory over the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders in consolation semifinal action Monday at the JVC gym.

The Vikings (4-4) were led by Jerrad Wallman with 27 points. Tayne Herrmann added 10 points and Jayven VanScharrel pitched in nine points.

Trey Thieman led the Crusaders, now 0-6, with 17 points.

JVC will face Highmore-Harrold for the consolation title at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Huron Arena. SBA will play Hitchcock-Tulare for seventh at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Huron Arena.

The Highmore-Harrold Pirates defeated the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots, 50-43 in the 281 Conference Tournament consolation semifinals on Monday at the JVC gym.

Highmore-Harrold will play James Valley Christian for the consolation championship at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Huron Arena and Sunshine Bible Academy will play Hitchcock-Tulare for seventh place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Huron Arena.

W-W, I/LP to play for girls consolation championship
HURON Wolsey-Wessington and Iroquois/Lake Preston earned victories in the consolation semifinals of the 281 Conference Girls Tournament on Monday.

The Lady Warbirds defeated James Valley Christian 55-22, while the Sharks defeated SBA 48-20.

Wolsey-Wessington will play Iroquois/Lake Preston for the consolation championship at noon Thursday at Huron Arena.

James Valley Christian and Sunshine Bible Academy will meet for seventh place at 9 a.m. Thursday at Huron Arena.

Individual stats for the consolation semi-final games were not submitted.
