All-Stars earn first win against Sioux Center

HURON Behind a shutout in the net by goalie Jack Bales, the Huron All-Stars earned their first win of the season Friday at Bergman Arena.

The All-Stars recorded a 7-0 victory against the Sioux Center Storm.

Jack Bales finished with 13 saves in the game for Huron, while his teammates unleashed 35 shots against Sioux Center goalie Isaac Beller.

Elliot Hartman opened the scoring for the All-Stars with a goal with 4:51 remaining in the opening period. He scored on a pass from Jace Bales.

With Huron on the power play, Jaxon Greenfield found the net with 20 seconds left in the first period. Jack Pedersen and Hartman combined on the assist.

Bales had the first of two goals for the All-Stars in the second period. He scored on a pass from Hartman with 9:28 remaining in the period to make it 3-0.

Hartman recorded his second goal to cap the scoring in the second period for Huron. Diego Colon and Mason Hunter were credited with assists.

Greenfield capitalized on another power play situation to score the first of three goals for the All-Stars in the third period and stretch the lead to 5-0. The assist went to Colon.

Hurons final two goals came on shorthanded situations.

Hartman earned a hat trick with his third goal with 7:01 left in the game on a pass from Jace Bales.

Ryder Casper Houghtaling capped the scoring for the All-Stars with 3:43 to play, with the assist going to Monte Bogh.

Huron hosted Brandon Valley on Sunday, but results from that game were not available and will run in Tuesdays paper.
