ALLEN, Texas With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Phyllis Gail Schnoor, who left this world on February 6, 2025, at the age of 85, surrounded by the love of her children in Allen, Texas. Born on December 24, 1939, in Huron, Phyllis lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to others.
A proud graduate of Wolsey High School, Class of 57, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Westminster University, Salt Lake City, Utah.
A devoted, award-winning nurse, Phyllis spent her career caring for those in need with unmatched compassion and skill. For her, nursing was more than a professionit was a calling. She saw every patient as a person to be cared for, comforted, and uplifted. Her kindness, empathy, and wisdom left a lasting impact on the countless lives she touched, making the world a better place, one patient at a time.
Beyond her career, Phyllis was a woman of many passions. She was an avid sports fan, a dedicated arts and crafts enthusiast, and had a deep love for decoratingespecially at Christmas, when her home glowed with warmth and festive magic. She never missed an opportunity to cheer on her children and grandchildren in their athletic pursuits and was a proud Texas A&M Baseball and Dallas Cowboys fan. Whether she was in the stands, gathered around the TV with family, or delivering her famously spirited game-time commentary, she brought her signature energy, loyalty, and enthusiasmqualities that defined every part of her life.
But above all, Phyllis was the heart of our familyour rock, our safe place, our biggest cheerleader. She created a home filled with warmth, wisdom, and joy. Full of both love and opinions, grandma had a way of making everyone feel special, and her love was the kind you could always count onsteady, strong, and unconditional. She taught us to be kind, to stand tall, and to always, always put family first.
Phyllis will be deeply missed by her children, Steve Schnoor (Patrica), Scott Schnoor (Julie Jenkins), Stacie Dickson, Samantha Schnoor (John Thompson), along with 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, siblings Larry Butch Peterson, and Diane Eichstadt who will carry her love and lessons with them forever. She was preceded in death by her parents Phil and Edna Peterson, her sister-in-law JoAnn Peterson and brother-in-law Steve Eichstadt.
A celebration of Phylliss life will be held at a future date in Wolsey, where family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable woman, she was.
Mom, Grandmayour love was our greatest gift. Well miss your laughter, your advice, and your smothering hugs, but we find comfort in knowing youre at peace. Until we are together againGig em and rest easy.
