All-Stars collect victory

HURON The Huron All-Stars recorded their second win of the season Saturday with a 5-2 win against the Brandon Valley IceCats at Bergman Arena.

Jace Bales opened the scoring for Huron, finding the net on a pass from Elliot Hartman in the first period.

The All-Stars then opened the scoring in the second period with a goal by Jack Pedersen on a pass from Jaxon Greenfield.

Brandon Valley would pull to within a goal with the final goal of the second period on a power play and then score its final goal to open to scoring in the third period and even the score at 2-2.

Pedersen would hit the game-winning goal for Huron with 10:21 remaining in the final period on a pass from Mason Hunter on a power play.

The All-Stars would add a pair of insurance goals to cap the scoring. Hartman scored the first of two with Greenfield and Hunter combining for the assist. Alex Timm capped the scoring with an empty net goal on a pass from Pedersen.

Huron finished with a 42-19 shots on goal advantage, with Jack Bales recording 17 saves to earn the win in the net.

The All-Stars traveled to face Mitchell on Sunday, but results from that game were not available and will run in Tuesdays paper.
