HURON Community members are invited to the annual Winter Worship Event, hosted by Connecting Cultures, on Friday, Feb. 28, at the Huron Campus Center.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is an evening of fun, food worship and fellowship. Everyone is encouraged to join members of diverse cultures living in our community, sample food from different countries, enjoy activities and meet new friends.
Connecting Cultures, an area ministry support group which includes members from several churches in Huron, was formed in 2016 with a purpose of reaching out to those in need and learning about different cultures in our region. The main goal is to connect with people in this region to bring all the amazing cultures together as one by an exchange of ideas, stories and life.
The event will be held in Blackburn Hall on the second floor of the Campus Center and begins at 6 p.m.
A variety of Karen, Hispanic, Native American, Norwegian and American food will be served:
El Salvador: Pupusas
Mexico: Tamales
Peru: Chicken and rice
Peruvian-Aji de Galllina
Guatemalan-Tamales Guatemalan
Karen: spring rolls
Native American: Blackberry dessert
Norwegian Lefse
American: Church lady pies
And, more to be announced.
