IROQUOIS Born on July 10, 1947, in Huron, Dean was the beloved son of Hillard and Leona (Kopplin) Peskey. He grew up on a farm in rural Iroquois and developed a lifelong love for farming, hard work, and community. He attended Iroquois High School and was proud to be on the 1963 State B basketball team.
Dean was a dedicated employee at Lyle Signs, but his true passion was life on the farm. He found his greatest joy in driving his tractor, caring for his cows, and spending time outdoors. A gifted gardener, Dean took pride in growing bountiful harvests and generously shared his fresh produce with family, friends, and neighbors.
Family was at the heart of Deans life. He married the love of his life, Marlys (Rounds) Peskey, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. Dean was a proud father to their three children: Joni (Chris) Ekstrum, Jill (Chad) Hanson, and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Peskey. He especially cherished time spent watching his grandchildren play sports, cheering them on from the sidelines with unwavering pride.
Dean is survived by his devoted wife, Marlys; his children, Joni (Chris), Jill (Chad), and Jeffrey (Jennifer); his treasured grandchildren, Abbie, Tanner, Carter, Clarissa, Jessa, Logan, Lucas, and Layton; his brother, Dennis (Janet) Peskey; Marlys sisters, Kathy (Darold) Berch, Jackie (Bob) Zell, and Susan Dillon; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind extended family members and countless friends who will miss his kindness, gentle soul, and generous spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hillard and Leona Peskey; brother-in-law, Russell Dillon; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
