All-Stars earn third win of season against Sioux Center

SIOUX CENTER, Iowa Huron secured its third win of the season on Sunday with a 5-4 victory against Sioux Center.

The All-Stars, who are now 3-17, scored three goals in the opening period and held on for the win.

Jace Bales had the opening goal for Huron less than a minute into the game on a pass from Alex Timm.

Just under two minutes later Jack Pedersen put the All-Stars ahead 2-0, scoring on a pass from Carlos Ardon.

The All-Stars stretched their lead to 3-0 with 5:50 remaining in the first period with a goal by Ardon. He scored on a pass from Micah Larson.

Sioux Center would score the final goal of the opening period to cut Hurons lead to 3-1.

The All-Stars had the lone goal in the second period. Jaxon Greenfield scored with 1:10 to play, wth Ryder Casper-Houghtalling and Jonas Bucklin combining on the assist.

The Storm would score three times in the final period, but another goal by Greenfield would serve as the game winner for Huron. He scored on a power play with Bucklin and Larson being credited with assists.

Daniel Parker recorded 15 saves to earn the win in the net for the All-Stars. Huron had 38 shots on goal in the game.

The All-Stars will close the regular season with home games against Aberdeen and Brookings on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Fridays game is slated for 8 p.m., with Saturdays game scheduled for 3 p.m.

Sioux Falls East 11, Huron 0
Sioux Falls East scored seven goals in the second period en route to an 11-0 victory against the Huron All-Stars on Saturday.

After scoring the one goal in the opening period, the Flyers broke open the game in the second period. They added three goals in the final period.
Sioux Falls East finished with 45 shots on goal, compared to just 10 for the All-Stars.

Jack Bales started in the net for Huron and was replaced by Daniel Parker in the second period.
