Highmore-Harrold 61, Potter County 49
HIGHMORE Top-seeded Highmore-Harrold used a strong second half to get past Potter County 61-49 in the quarterfinals of the Region 6B Tournament on Tuesday.

The Pirates outscored Potter County 22-9 in the third quarter to carry a 48-37 lead into the final quarter.

Jada Baloun had 25 points to lead Highmore-Harrold, which improved to 15-6. Addison McDonnell also reached double figures with 13 points, while Elle Stagg and Autumn Fallis added nine and eight points, respectively.

Baloun snagged a team-high 11 rebounds for the Pirates, while Fallis had seven assists and three steals and Stagg had three steals.

Highmore-Harrold will face Herreid/Selby Area or North Central in the semifinals on Thursday.

DE SMET Second-seeded De Smet recorded a 53-29 victory against No. 7 Estelline/Hendricks in the quarterfinals of the Region 2B Tournament on Tuesday.

Hazel Luethmers had 17 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Lady Bulldogs, who improved to 14-7. Alyssa Asleson had 12 points, while Brooke Jennings added nine points. Asleson recorded eight steals and had four assists, while Megan Dylla also had four assists.

Ayla Texley had 12 points to lead Estelline/Hendricks.

De Smet will face third-seeded Arlington in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Huron Arena.

Arlington 49, Wolsey-Wessington 38
DE SMET After leading 20-2 at the end of the first quarter, third-seeded Arlington held on for a 49-38 victory against No. 6 Wolsey-Wessington in the Region 2B quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Jaelyn Huntimer had a game-high 23 points and seven rebounds to lead the Cardinals, who improved to 13-8. Ellisyn Vincent added nine points.

Maria Nelson and Shea Uttecht had 11 and 10 points, respectively, for Wolsey-Wessington. Kendal Uttecht added six points.

Shea Uttecht had six rebounds for the Lady Warbirds, while Kendal Uttecht had four steals.

Arlington will face second-seeded De Smet in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Huron Arena.

Wessington Springs 49, Castlewood 48
WHITE Fifth-seeded Wessington Springs pulled out a 49-48 victory against fourth-seeded Castlewood in the Region 2B Tournament quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Kerstynn Heim had 14 points to lead the Lady Spartans, who improved to 10-11. Mariah Messmer had 12 points, while Kendall Kolousek and Ashlyn Weber each had seven points.

Sophia Kudrna led Castlewood with 20 points, while Ava Ruml added 18 points.

Wessington Springs will face top-seeded Deubrook Area in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Thursday at Huron Arena.

Oldham-Ramona-Rutland 61, Iroquois/Lake Preston 57
LAKE PRESTON Ninth-seeded Oldham-Ramona-Rutland outscored Iroquois/Lake Preston 22-18 in the fourth quarter for a 61-57 victory in the opening round of the Region 2B Tournament on Monday.

After trailing 17-14 at the end of the first quarter, the Raiders were able to carry a 32-28 lead into the second half. Using an 11-7 run in the third quarter, Iroquois/Lake Preston evened the score at 39-39 heading into the final quarter.

Brookelyn Riedd had 22 points to lead three players in double figures for O-R-R. Bailey Hyland had 21 points and Emily Matson finished with 17 points.

Bella Malisch and Madi Merager each had five rebounds for the Raiders, who improved to 5-14. Mason had four steals.

Kera Dubro and Hadlee Holt had 21 and 20 points, respectively, for Iroquois/Lake Preston, which ended the season at 6-15. Chenoa Harris added eight points.

Holt snagged 16 rebounds for the Sharks, while Dubrok had two assists and Harris had two steals.

IPSWICH With four players in double figures, seventh-seeded Ipswich recorded a 57-33 victory against No. 10-seeded Sunshine Bible Academy in the opening round of the Region 6B Tournament on Monday.

The Tigers, who improved to 11-10, opened a 22-10 advantage in the first quarter and led 31-16 heading into the second half.

Marley Guthmiller and Anna Nierman each had 13 points for Ipswich. Kaylin Onken had 12 points and Gabby Wald added 11 points.

Guthmiller also had team highs of 11 rebounds and six steals for the Tigers.

Breanna Thieman and Abby Hinman had eight and seven points, respectively, for Sunshine Bible Academy, which ended the season at 4-15.

Hinman and Thieman each had six rebounds and three steals for the Crusaders.

REDFIELD Brooks Jett had 20 points to lead three players in double figures for Aberdeen Christian during a 64-48 victory against Redfield on Monday.

The Knights, who improved to 15-4, led 19-8 after the opening quarter and carried at 35-25 lead into the half.

Ethan Biel had 16 points for Aberdeen Christian, while Luke Kaiser added 13 points. Jett also had six rebounds.

Ruben Alvarez netted a game-high 33 points, including all four of the teams 3-pointers, to lead Redfield. Jacksan Rude and Ethan Falk had six and four points, respectively.

Alvarez and Falk shared the rebounding honors for the Pheasants, who are now 2-18, with five boards each.

Mondays game closed the regular season for Redfield.
