PRCA Rodeo planned at the DEX

HURON Cowboys and cowgirls aiming to qualify for the Wranglers National Finals Rodeo will be in Huron on Friday and Saturday to compete in the Huron PRCA Rodeo at the DEX on the South Dakota State Fairgrounds.

Doors will open at 6 p.m., both nights, with the rodeo performances slated to begin at 7 p.m.

Big Bucks Pro Rodeo, which is presenting the rodeo, will match some of the nations top stock against top contestants from across the country.

The sports toughest athletes will compete in bareback riding, tie down roping, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, ladies WPRA barrel racing and breakaway roping, team roping and bull riding, according to a press release from the company. Each event showcases the skill, determination and unmatched courage of professional cowboys and cowgirls as the face off against top-tier stock, originating from both Kerby and Mosbrucker bloodlines.

The event will be jam packed with action, as the competition will be complimented by the feature act Stellar Trick Riding Cowgirls.

Sisters Kate and Tera Flitton, who are from a renowned rodeo family, will be performing during both nights of the rodeo. The Utah duo perform at events throughout the country at had the opportunity to perform during the 2024 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas this past December.

Also providing entertainment during the Huron PRCA Rodeo will be rodeo clown Gizmo McCracken, who was named as the 2017 Comedy Act of the Year by the PRCA.

Jordan Jensen, who is the current Miss Rodeo South Dakota, along with various other rodeo queens will be in attendance at the event. She will be signing autographs Saturday at Double D Western.
