Wessington Springs 64, James Valley Christian 56
WESSINGTON SPRINGS The James Valley Christian Vikings rallied, but it was too little too late as the sourth-ranked and second-seeded Wessington Springs Spartans came away with a 64-56 victory Friday night at the Wessington Springs elementary gym in Region 2B play.
Ryder Michalek led the way for the Spartans with 18 points and nine rebounds. Karter Mebius added 12 points and Colby Flowers had 10.
Brandon Flowers also ripped down nine rebounds for Wessington Springs, now 19-2.
The Vikings finish the year 13-9. No individual statistics were available.
The Spartans move on to face Wolsey-Wessington tonight for a chance to play in the SoDak 16.

WESSINGTON SPRINGS The Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds jumped out to a 21-3 lead after one quarter and handled business from there, coming away with a 66-39 victory over the Deubrook Area Dolphins in the Region 2B quarterfinals Friday in Wessington Springs.
The Warbirds spread the scoring around, with nine players scoring in the game. Larz Tvedt led the way with 15 points on five three-point baskets.
Caleb Richmond added 11 points for Wolsey-Wessington, now 17-4.
The Dolphins finish the season at 9-12. Chance Schoenfeld led the way with 19 points.
The Warbirds will match up with Wessington Springs today. The two teams have split their two previous meetings this season.

CLARK The Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones jumped out early, leading 40-19 at half, on the way to a 72-42 victory Friday over the Great Plains Lutheran Panthers in a Region 2A quarterfinal at Clark.
The Cyclones, receiving votes in the final Class A poll, move to 16-4 behind 24 points from Sully Felberg. Chris Bevers added 17 points and Bo Begeman dropped in 10 points while pulling in seven rebounds and dishing out six assists.
Austin Rubendall led the Panters, 10-11, with 10 points and grabbed six rebounds.
The Cyclones will square off with third-seeded Deuel tonight to earn a spot in the SoDak 16.

CASTLEWOOD The De Smet Bulldogs used a 24-point outburst in the third quarter and late free throws to secure a 75-70 win over the Estelline/Hendricks Redhawks Friday in Region 2B action in Castlewood.
The two teams played nearly even the rest of the game, but the Bulldogs were able to outscore the Redhawks 24-15 in the third period to take control and held on as Estelline/Hendricks made a valiant attempt at the end of the game.
De Smet coach Jeff Gruenhagen was pleased with his teams effort.
Three clutch baskets by Carter Wilkinson in the last two minutes gave us the momentum we needed to earn a great win tonight, Gruenhagen remarked. Everybody hit some tough shots for us. Very proud of our guys to finish with two starters fouled out early.
Grant Wilkinson led the fifth-seeded Bulldogs, now 13-8, with 29 points and 22 rebounds. Noah Luethmers added 16 points while Carter Wilkinson chipped in 10 points.
Kyler Carlson had a big game for the Redhawks, who finish the year 16-5, with 31 points.
Drayden Cokens bucketed 14 points off the bench and Wyat James added 10. Braxton Pravecek pulled in seven rebounds to pace Estelline/Hendricks.

WOONSOCKET The fifth-seeded Colman-Egan Hawks played stifling defense through three quarters and then survived an onslaught in the final period from the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks to come away with a 46-37 victory Friday in Woonsocket in Region 3B action.
The Hawks held the Blackhawks to just two points in the second quarter and only 15 through three as they built a 31-15 lead heading into the final frame and held on for the victory.
Colman-Egan moves to 11-10. No individual statistics were available.
Sanborn Central/Woonsocket finished the year 12-9. McCoy Shulz finished the season strong with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Grant Edwards added 13 points.
