To the editor:
As an active member of the American Legion and proud veteran, Im calling on our South Dakota leadership to do the right thing for South Dakotas seniors and continue to support the Medicare Advantage Program by opposing funding and benefit cuts like those that we saw under the Biden Administration.
Medicare Advantage is a solid program that offers benefits to its participants not available from other healthcare programs, including traditional Medicare. Its programs are affordable, straight-forwardand flexible. When our health needs change, like they often do as we age, we our coverage should account for that. Medicare Advantage also prioritizes senior health by offering preventative and wellness programs, helping us stay ahead of the health game and allowing us to remain active in our lives.
Seniors and veterans have worked hard and contributed to our communities and country. We deserve to know our lawmakers recognize that and are willing to support us in what can be a difficult time of life. Knowing we have reliable healthcare and lawmakers keeping an eye out for us goes a long way toward easing those aging aches and pains, not just the physical ones. South Dakota lawmakers, including Majority Leader Thune, have the opportunity to back veterans and seniors by fully supporting the Medicare Advantage Program.
