Heinz earns honorable mention on AA all-state team for Tigers

HURON Hylton Heinz, a 5-foot-8 junior for Huron, received honorable mention on the 2025 Class AA All-State Girls Basketball Team, which was selected by the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association.

Heinz, who averaged 16.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game this season, was the lone selection to the AA team for the Tigers.

The honor is very well deserved, she puts in the time to perfect her game and it has paid off, Huron coach Kody Kopfmann said of Heinz being honored. I look forward to more improvements on the court next year, along with an increased role as a leader on and off the court.

The Class AA all-state first team consisted of junior Alyvia Padgett of Brandon Valley, who was also the Class AA Player of the Year; senior Taaliyah Porter of Rapid City Stevens; junior Sydney Terveen of OGorman; senior Lennix Dupris of Pierre; sophomore Brinley Altenburg of Sioux Falls Jefferson; and Ruby Moore of OGorman.
