Letter – Schmidt 3-28-25

To the editor:

May I fill you in on the amateur hour antics that our leaders in Washington have done lately? Thank You.

It seems as though Partying Pete Hegseth, an ex-Fox TV host, was texting out the secret plans for the attack on Yemen to those who needed to know, well it also included a journalist named Jeffrey Goldberg who had absolutely no military clearance. Oops! A journalist! Not too smart, right?

In the effort to cut waste in government more than 300 were fired from the National Nuclear Security Administration. It was later found out that these workers were in charge of the US nuclear weapons stockpile. Congress was freaking out, and the employees were unfired. Trump was not concerned when asked by reporters of this. He said, No, not at all, I think we have to just do what we have to do.

Mr. Busch thinks the Trumpster is an intelligent man, well if so, why would you cut 6,000 IRS jobs during tax season, and why does he plan on cutting approximately 80,000 jobs in the Veterans Administration if you cared so much about our veterans? I dont call that too intelligent. These people take medical care of our vets who deserve it for their service to all of us.

If you want to cut government waste, then cut the $20.5 billion annually given to the fossil fuel industry and cut the $21 billion given to Elon Musk in contracts and subsidies. By the way, he received as of Feb. 17th an additional $76.7 million since Trumps inauguration. Just like to keep you informed.
