Hunter, Felberg earn all-state honor in Class A

HURON A pair of area underclassmen garnered postseason honors by being named to the Class A All-State Boys Basketball Team, which was selected by the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association.

Junior Isaak Hunter of Miller and freshman Sullivan Felberg of Clark/Willow Lake were named to the third team.

Hunter, at 6-foot-4, averaged 22.3 points, 10.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game this season for the Rustlers.

Isaak is a versatile scorer and a playmaker on both ends of the floor. His ability to play both inside and out at a high level were showcased this past season, Miller coach Dustin Lanke said. His rebounding and ability to find an open teammate add to the invaluable traits he brings to our program.

Isaak is also a great teammate and continues to grow as a leader, he said. It has been fun watching him make strides as a player and I believe his best basketball is still ahead of him.

Felberg, a 6-7 post players, helped the Cyclones to the Class A State Tournament this season. He had averages of 13.5 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2 assists.

He really had a great season for us as a freshman and hasnt really scratched the surface yet on the caliber of player he will be, Clark/Willow Lake coach Jerome Nesheim said. He took on a leadership role this season as a freshman. He didnt really look to score but filled a role as a team player and it was great.

The other coaches saw the type of player he is and what he is capable of doing, he said.
