Letter – Williams 4-4-25

To the editor:

Canada called Trumps bluff. We need capital to pay our debts. Its not going to happen by threatening other nations. No one will buy our bonds and no Republican is willing to stand up and say, This is insane.

You cant dismiss our laws and Constitution. You have an unelected individual meddling in Social Security. It effects seniors and children with disabilities. What becomes of those mortgages that depend on timely payments from Social Security? Will the lending institutions absorb that cost? Will they have to sue the federal government for non-payment? With the onset of jobs and (earned) entitlements taken away, do these people declare bankruptcy?

Trump ordered all federal employees to report in person to their offices of employment. He will not admit that decisions he made will cause hardships. They will lead to a recession. It will cuase anxiety, PTSD, some will have heart attacks, and some will take their lives. Hold him accountable.

There are three equal branches of government. Congress and the courts can put an end to this insanity but they are buying votes to disbar judges.

In Trumps first term, it took a disease to disrupt the economy. This time, he is the disease.

Silence becomes acquiescence, and acquiescence becomes collaboration. We are in the midst of an autocratic takeover.

You learn by listening, not by talking. Trump listens to no one, thereby limiting his intake of knowledge.

If Trump can get a third term, so can Obama. Hmmm.
