Huron Chamber announces upcoming leadership change

HURON The Huron Chamber Board of Directors would like to announce that effective June 30th, 2025, Laurie Shelton will be retiring as the President and CEO of the Huron Chamber & Visitors Bureau. Shelton has led the Chamber for the past 10 years, playing a vital role in guiding the organizations strategic vision, overseeing operations and fostering community growth through fiscal management, membership development, public relations and the promotion of tourism working toward the Chambers mission of serving members, strengthening business and supporting visitors and enhancing community.

Beginning July 1, 2025, Brianna Johnson, the Chambers current Program & Events Director, will officially step into the role of President & CEO. Brianna has been with the Chamber since December of 2023, overseeing committees for the Chambers largest events like the SD BBQ Championships, the Ringneck Festival & Bird Dog Challenge, Parade of Lights and the Annual Ag Banquet. In addition, she has served as the liaison on the Huron Connect Leadership Board and will see her 2nd Leadership Huron class graduate in July. Over the next two months, Johnson will begin transitioning into her new position under Sheltons guidance.
