PIERRE With three golfers inside the top 10, Aberdeen Central won the championship at the Pierre Invitational on Tuesday at Hillsview Golf Course.
The Golden Eagles finished at 309, which put them six strokes in from of second-placed Mitchell.
Rapid City Stevens was third in the 9-team meet at 338, followed by Yankton at 361 and Spearfish at 365.
Huron was eighth with a score of 428.
Olivia Braun earned the medalist honors for Aberdeen Central with a 4-under-par 67. She finished seven strokes ahead of Gabi Olson of Watertown and teammate Kyley Wirebaugh, who were second and third, respectively, with scores of 74.
Mia Larson of Mitchell was fourth with a 75 and Ellie Homstad of Yankton was fifth with a 75.
The other golfer inside the top 10 for the Golden Eagles was Emma Dohrer, who was seventh with a 77.
Taylor Sorben was the leading golfer for Huron, finishing 29th in the 59-golfer field with a 99. Olivia Purintun was 35th with a 103, while Paige Sherron was 42nd with a 109.
Rounding out the lineup for the Tigers were Jeselyn Matthews with a 117, Taryn Cass with a 125 and Kolby Glanzer with a 151.
Huron returns to action Thursday at the Hub City Invite in Aberdeen.
