The Iroquois HOSA Chapter competed at the HOSA State Leadership Conference in Sioux Falls on April 10-11.
This year there were over 1,000 HOSA members from across South Dakota that competed in various health-related events for the opportunity to compete at the International Leadership Conference that will be held June 18-21 in Nashville, Tenn.
Iroquois HOSA had students place in the following events:
Barbara James Service Awards (100-119 volunteer hours)
Bronze Medal Winners: Ariana Palladeno, Airabella Deysel and Madi Burma
Barbara James Service Award (299+ volunteer hours) – Gold Medal Winner: Kali Burma
Health Literacy Ambassador
Silver Level Recognition: Connor Dant
Gold Level Recognition: Emma Eckmann, Airabella Deysel, Avah Newman, Natalie Cundy, Skyla Harris, Mona Nickoli and Madi Burma
Healthcare Issues Exam – 2ndPlace: Natalie Cundy
Life Support Skills – 1stPlace: Ariana Palladeno
HOSA Happenings – 2ndPlace: Kali Burma
Clinical Specialty – 3rdPlace: Madi Burma

The Iroquois HOSA Chapter also received recognition for Outstanding HOSA Chapter, their contribution to the HOSA National Service Project-NMDP (Be the Match), and the ABC Blood Drive Award.
Iroquois HOSA Advisor, Daphne Moeller was also awarded Outstanding HOSA Advisor.
