Brandon Valley dominates Tigers in twinbill

BRANDON – The Brandon Valley Lynx swept the Huron Tigers in a doubleheader on Saturday in dominant fashion, winning 10-0 and 9-1 in Brandon.

The first game was scoreless through three innings, but the Lynx put up four in the bottom of the fourth and walked off with a run-rule victory the next inning, winning 10-0.

Brady Feenstra opened the game on the mound, going four innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks.

Oakley Anderson came in the fifth inning, but did not record an out before Brandon Valley put up six runs on three hits and three walks.

The Huron offense was fairly sparse, with no hitter reaching base twice. Bubba Peterson had a stolen base.

The Lynx jumped out with a run in the first inning in the second game, but it was a five-run fifth inning that was the separator in a 9-1 win.

Nolan Stahly started on the bump for Huron, going three innings, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks, striking out one.

Tommie Martin tossed three innings of relief, allowing seven runs on four hits and seven walks.

The Tiger offense had nine baserunners on the day but couldnt string together hits to bring runners around to score. Logan Leyendecker reached base three times on a single and two walks, stealing a base.

Gabe Waldner was the only other Tiger to reach base twice with a single and a walk.

Huron falls to 1-17 with a pair of games at Aberdeen Sunday to close the regular season.
