Movie at Redfield drive-in to feature area horse wranglers

REDFIELD Friday and Saturday evening, the Pheasant City Drive-In Theatre in Redfield will have the opportunity to feature a film that stars the work of Redfield area horse wranglers.

Schultz Wrangling, originally founded by Stan Schultz and now overseen by son Nick Schultz, has worked on numerous movie sets over the years, and this weekend, the work of Schultz Wrangling will be evident as the movie Rust opens at the Pheasant City Drive-In – and Nick will even be on the screen.

Alec Baldwin stars in the western that tells the story of a 13-year-old who is orphaned and left to care for himself and his younger brother in 1880s Wyoming. Hes convicted of the accidental killing of a local rancher, which leads his grandfather to break him out of jail and attempt to run to Mexico.

Nick and Stan, along with other members of the Schultz Wrangling team, will be at Pheasant City Drive-In in costume, with horses, a jail wagon used in the film, and other movie-related items present to welcome kids.

Rust is not rated and runs two hours, 19 minutes. The film gained notoriety in October 2021, when a gun handed to Baldwin discharged with live ammunition rather than blanks, killing the films cinematrographer Halyna Hutchins. Investigation into the incident led to extensive delays in the filming, but the movie was released on May 2 and is the opening movie of the season at Pheasant City.

The ticket booth both nights opens at 7 p.m. and tickets are $7 each for ages 12 and up. Ages 11 and under are free.
