Charles Wright, 82

WEST POINT, Utah Charles Wright, age 82, of West Point, Utah, passed away Friday, April 11, 2025, at Salt Lake City VA Hospital, Utah.

Charles was born on Oct. 29, 1942, in Huron, S.D. to Charles and Esther (Farmer) Wright. Charles grew up on a farm and graduated from Bonilla High School. Charles joined the Air Force and served as a medic and pilot during the Vietnam War, and engineer in the Air Force maintenance, which led him to teach engineering at Weber State University and at Hills Air Force Base.

Charles owned a towing and repair business with a friend, Bill Adams. Charles drag raced, and built and drove mini sprint cars. Lately, Charles wintered in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., with his sister Barb and brother-in-law Mike Bauer, who survive him.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Connie, stepfather Richard Chaplin; daughter, Michelle; granddaughter Ashley; brothers, Dennis Wright and Ronald Chaplin; and sisters,, Sharon Zelenka and Patricia Hotchkiss.

Charles life was celebrated May 10 at West Point Cemetery with military rites.
