HURON The Dakotaland Museum is excited to welcome visitors back for another season of history, heritage, and hands-on discovery. Admission is free.
The museum officially opens its doors for the 2025 season on Saturday, May 24, inviting guests of all ages to explore the rich cultural legacy of the Beadle County.
Located in the heart of Huron on the South Dakota State Fairgrounds, the Dakotaland Museum features engaging exhibits on pioneer life, Native American history, agricultural innovation, and local artifacts that bring the regions past to life. With rotating displays and interactive features, the museum offers a fresh experience every season.
Were thrilled to open for the summer and share the stories that make this region so unique, said the museums Executive Director Louise Van Poll. Whether its your first visit or your 50th, theres always something new to discover at Dakotaland Museum.
Summer hours for the 2025 season are:
Monday through Friday: 10 a.m. 6 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: Noon 4 p.m.
The museum welcomes individuals, families, and group tours, and admission is free, though donations are appreciated to help support ongoing programming and preservation efforts.
