Huron golfers participate in Bill Scholten Invite

BROOKINGS Aberdeen Central placed three girls in the top five individuals to come away with the team title at the Bill Scholten Invite at Brookings Country Club on Thursday.

The Golden Eagles finished with a total of 317 as a team, ahead of second-place Mitchell by nine strokes. Lincoln came in third at 344, with OGorman (351) fourth and Yankton (365) fifth.

Aberdeen Centrals Olivia Braun won going away, shooting one-under par 71 on the day. Mitchells Anna Eliason finished second with a 77.

Emma Dohrer of Aberdeen Central tied for third at 78 with Hadley Hart of Pierre, and the Golden Eagles Kyley Wirebaugh tied with OGormans Erin Hurd for fifth at 79.

Taylor Sorben led Huron with a 102, finishing tied for 46th. Olivia Purintun shot a 118 and Taryn Cass finished with a 142.

The Tigers are back in action Tuesday at the ESD Conference Meet at Brandon Valley.
