HRMC names Nelson interim CFO, promotes Rose

HURON Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is proud to announce the appointment of Joel Nelson as interim Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and the promotion of Janna Rose to Director of Revenue Integrity.

Nelson brings nearly 32 years of experience at HRMC to his new role. He has served as the hospitals controller and led the Fiscal Services department, while also contributing to leadership roles within HRMC, the HRMC Foundation, and the community. Nelsons new position follows the planned retirement of longtime CFO Marcia Zwanziger, who is currently assisting in a consultative role during the transition.

Nelson holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and lives in Huron with his wife, Amy. Together, they have four children, five grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He enjoys spending time with family, cheering for Huron Hockey, reading and serving at Huron Christian Church.

As interim CFO, Nelson joins HRMCs senior leadership team with oversight of the hospitals financial operations in addition to continuing to serve as Controller. He has also assumed leadership of the hospitals Materials Management department as Janna Rose transitions into her new role.

Rose, who started her career at HRMC nearly 32 years ago as a supply receiving clerk, has led Materials Management operations for over 17 years. Her new role as Director of Revenue Integrity positions her as a key member of the finance team charged with streamlining workflows, training team members, and implementing best practices to support the hospitals financial health.

Rose lives in Wolsey and has three children and three grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, camping and spending time with family.

Jannas drive to find efficiencies positions her well to achieve a number of financial management improvements as director of revenue integrity, said Erick Larson, HRMC president and CEO. In addition, Joels deep knowledge of critical access hospital finance and his long-time dedication to HRMC make him a strong leader during this transition.
