Bushman family presents ‘final’ check to Huron baseball

HURON Tuesday evening at Ryans Hangar in Huron, Huron baseball received a significant gift from one of its most generous benefactors.

Todd Larimer met with members of the Huron Baseball board and other community members on behalf of Bob Bushman, who was well-known for his generosity toward the baseball program in Huron.

He donated money each year to the program until his passing in 2020, each year exchanging a check in his shirt pocket for a new red Huron Little League hat.

After hearing how previous donations from Bushman had been utilized to upgrade baseball facilities, purchase new uniforms, and add in items like a 13-passenger van for the program, Larimer presented a check for $198,000 to the program. In total, $364,000 has been put toward a trust set up in Bushmans name to benefit Huron baseball for years to come.
