HURON The Beadle County Commission swore in new member Scott Slepikas to open their regular meeting on Tuesday morning.
Slepikas will serve as the District 4 commissioner, a post that was vacated by the death of Doug Ramsell on June 6. The commission reviewed applicants at their July 8 meeting and appointed Slepikas to fill the remainder of Ramsells term.
The meeting then focused on budget discussions with department heads, reviewing budget submissions to discuss any potential major purchases or staffing changes that could come in 2026.
The next county commission meeting is Tuesday, July 29.
