HURON The Beadle County Commission approved a resolution Tuesday to approve a provisional budget after meeting with department heads multiple times over the year leading up to the creation of the budget. Any changes to the provisional budget will require approval of the commission before the final approval of the budget on September 2.
The meeting opened with highway superintendent Jason Fritzsche. He showed the commission the four bridges that the county is proposing for assistance with the BIG grant. These were approved.
The commission and Fritzsche also discussed an upcoming meeting regarding 405th Ave.
The courthouse parking lot and sidewalks were proposed as part of a capital outlay fund for repair and rehabilitation. This was approved.
In the county board of adjustment, the commission approved a variance request from Justin Plooster to build a garage closer to property line than ordinance allows on a lot in Wolsey. The commission stated in their approval that they would agree to the City of Wolsey board recommendations as part of the approval.
