HURON Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Christina Kroger as director of social support, a role designed to enhance the experience of patients and families by guiding them through every step of their journey with HRMC.
Kroger brings a passion for patient advocacy, education, and connection. She leads a team focused on supporting patients across all care settings, from hospital stays to outpatient visits, by coordinating vital hospital and community resources to meet patients emotional, social, and practical needs.
Were thrilled to welcome Christina and her leadership into this role, said Amy Goergen, vice president of patient services for HRMC. Her enthusiasm and broad experience are a perfect fit to help strengthen the network of care we provide beyond the walls of our hospital.
Kroger, who is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work degree, holds a bachelors in social work from the University of Mary. Her background includes experience in long-term care and juvenile support services. Kroger resides in Tulare with her husband and three children.
Under Krogers leadership, the social support department includes:
Patient Care Coordinator Miranda Pate, RN, who will focus on inpatient care management; Social Worker Mackenzie Morgan, MSW, who supports hospice and dialysis patients; Community Liaisons Sau-Mei Ramos, Saw Kee, and Mickie Schiebe, who continue their vital work connecting patients with local resources.
Kroger and team will work alongside UR/CDI Analyst, Lisa Kaiser, whos role is to ensure quality and compliance in care documentation as well as Miranda Retzer, RN, Chronic Care Nurse for HRMC Clinics, who provides one-on-one support to patients who qualify for Medicare and are living with chronic illness.
