REDFIELD With four of the top 19 runners in the race, Clark/Willow Lake won the team title in the varsity girls race at the Redfield Invite on Thursday at Fisher Grove Country Club.
The Cyclones finished with 13 points to claim the title, while Aberdeen Roncalli had 24 points to edge Groton Area by four points for the second spot. Faulkton Area was fourth at 40, followed by Great Plains Lutheran and James Valley Christian at 63.
Sanborn Central/Woonsocket was ninth with a 72.
Ella Boekelheide of Northwestern won the girls varsity race in 18:36.89, while teammate Tara Blachford was second at 19:22.70.
Kamryn Nesheim was third at 19:23.09 to lead Clark/Willow Lake. Cadence Bochek was eight for the Cyclones at 20:26.60, while Emma Bochek was 12th at 20:35.48, and Jennifer Bevers was 19th at 21:10.32.
Autumn Fallis of Highmore-Harrold was sixth at 19:47.81, while Kendal Uttecht of Wolsey-Wessington was ninth at 20:27.10.
James Valley Christian was two points shy of matching the winning score of 22 points posted by Deuel in the varsity boys standings. Dupree was third at 24, followed by North Central at 49 and Frederick Area at 52.
Clark/Willow Lake was 12th at 112.
Tayshaun Cudmore of Dupree turned in the fastest time in the varsity boys race. He completed the 5,000-meter course in 16:20.86, while Gavin Hirsch of Herreid/Selby Area was second at 16:30.98.
Kaden Ober led JVC with a 16:41.76 to finish fourth, while teammate Kolby VanDerWerff was eighth at 17:27.86. Levi Crandall also finished in the top 20 for the Vikings, with a 18:05.00 to put him No. 18, and Keegan Loewen was 30th at 18:47.31.
Reagan Sandness of Sunshine Bible Academy was No. 14 at 17:55.20, while Jordan Erfman of Highmore-Harrold was 16th at 18:01.79 and Case Carlson of Iroquois/Lake Preston was 20th at 18:10.51.
A pair of Sanborn Central/Woonsocket runners won the junior varsity races.
Jackson Wolter claimed the top spot in the boys race at 13:57.78, while Emrie VonEye won the girls race in 15:49.48.
