DE SMET Jeffrey Louie Emil Albrecht, age 65, of De Smet, met the arms of God, peacefully, surrounded by his family on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at one of his favorite places, his cabin on Lake Poinsett. He passed following a courageous battle against lymphoma. He fought against all odds but did not fear as his faith in the Lord was strong and never wavered.

A prayer service was held on Tuesday, Aug. 26, at American Lutheran Church in De Smet.
Burial at De Smet Cemetery followed the services.
Jeff was born on February 22, 1960, to John Jack and Norma Albrecht. He was raised on his family farm. He graduated from De Smet High School in 1978. After graduation, he returned to what he loved and farmed full-time. He farmed with his father, his three brothers, nephews, countless hired men, and his most treasured farming partner, his son Monte.
Jeff was united in marriage to the love of his life, Tamara Rae (Fox), on August 3, 1985. They were married at the American Lutheran Church in De Smet, where they continued as members. After their wedding, Jeff and Tammy left to burn some rubber in the Orange Z in the traditional car chase. Before Jeffs passing, they celebrated 40 years of marriage. From this marriage three children were born: Shantel, Shelace and Monte.
Family and farming were Jeffs passions in life. Jeff also enjoyed snowmobiling trips throughout the years with friends and family, watching the Vikings, spending time at Lake Poinsett, attending sporting events/activities of his children, and later in life his grandchildrens events.
Jeff always displayed a bright and welcoming smile along with a friendly conversation. Jeff was a man of great patience and willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a strong faith that was his ultimate guide to him becoming the great man we all cherished and loved.
We will think of Jeff when the planters are going in the spring, when the corn is ready for harvest, when we see a newborn calf, when we see his daughters smile, when the asparagus is ready for picking, when we hear his grandchildren laugh, and when we see Monte farming the land.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Tammy Albrecht; children; Shantel (Geoffery) Langland, Shelace (Darrik) Bunker, and Monte (Kasey) Albrecht; six grandchildren: Tripp, Briggs and Karsyn Langland, Hadlee, Brixlee and Maverik Bunker; siblings: Brad (Susanne) Albrecht, Greg (Bonita) Albrecht, Laurie (Lynn) Stoltenburg, Jane (Clint) Hoyer, Sherrie (Tom) Kersting and Jon (Rhona) Albrecht; sisters-in-law, Cherrlyn (Darrell) Fast and Kim (Kyle) Gross; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, John and Norma Albrecht; parents-in-law, John and Jean Fox; infant sister, Theresa Albrecht; infant nephew, Jonathan Albrecht; brother-in-law, Monte Fox; and nephew-in-law, Steven Wipf.
The family would like to thank everyone for their generosity and prayers during and after Jeffs battle. We are humbled by the support from our family, friends, and communities during a difficult time.
