Snedeker named SDBSD first vice president

WOONSOCKET Lisa Snedeker recently assumed the First Vice President role for the Associated School Boards of South Dakota.

ASBSDs First Vice President serves an integral role on the Associations Executive Committee, which comprises the leadership team of the 18-member Board of Directors.

Snedeker represents the Southeast Regions member districts in the 265 and Under enrollment category and has served on the state association board since 2018 during which time she served as ASBSD President in 2022-23.

Snedeker has served more than a decade on the Woonsocket School Board, including multiple terms as Vice President. In addition to her leadership roles locally and statewide, Snedeker has represented her local district at ASBSDs Delegate Assembly and as their Legislative Action Network member, as well as attended many training events. She is a Dakotaland FCU Branch Manager and Training Director.

The leadership and insight provided by Lisa in her years of service with ASBSD is invaluable, ASBSD Executive Director Heath Larson said. Were thankful for her continued commitment to ASBSD and public schools across the state and look forward to working with her in the years to come.

ASBSD is a private, non-profit association representing more than 850 South Dakota school board members, the 147 school districts they govern and the students they serve. The 18-member ASBSD Board of Directors is made up of local school board members elected from four geographic regions (Central, Northeast, Southeast and Western) and five enrollment size categories (265 and Under, 266-699, 700-1,399, 1,400-9,999 and 10,000 and Above).
