HURON The 70th edition of the South Dakota Rodeo Association Rodeo Championship Finals will begin Friday and run through Sunday at the DEX on the South Dakota State Fairgrounds.
The top 12 competitors in the standings from each event will compete in the season ending event.
We welcome everyone to Huron and wed like to invite everyone out to support the 70th Annual SDRA Finals Rodeo, said Judy Stevens of Huron, who is the vice president of the SDRA Board of Directors.
Prior to the first session on Friday a supper will be held on the south end of the DEX, with proceeds from the event going to Make-A-Wish.
Friday night is the Night of Legends at the SDRA Finals, with action slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturdays program, which also begins at 6:3 p.m., is the SDRA Honoree Night.
On Friday we will be honoring Tex Fulton of Miller and Saturday we will honor Bud Longbrake of Dupree, Stevens said.
The rodeos final performance on Sunday is tabbed the Red, White and Blue performance and will begin at 1 p.m.
Team penning will be held 90 minutes prior to the rodeo each day.
Advance tickets for the rodeo are available at Double D Western in Huron and Rays Western Wear in Oacome. Adult advance tickets are $15, with tickets being available at the door for each of the rodeo at $20.
Admission for kids ages 6-12 is $5, while 6-and-under are free. There will also be a vendor fair all weekend long.
