TULARE Hitchcock-Tulare earned its first win of the season Friday with a 38-26 victory against the Northwestern Wildcats.
Devin Enader rushed for a pair of touchdowns and threw for a pair of touchdowns to help the Patriots to the victory.
Enander scored on a 15-yard run and then connected with Morgan Bottum on an 18-yard scoring strike to give Hitchcock-Tulare a 14-6 lead heading into the second quarter.
Preston Wipf hauled in a 3-yard TD pass from Enander in the second quarter to give the Patriots a 22-14 advantage at the half.
With six points in the third quarter, Northwestern narrowed its deficit to 22-20 heading into the final quarter of play.
After going scoreless in the third quarter, Hitchcock-Tulare put up 16 points in the fourth quarter to pull away for the victory.
Enander had the first touchdown for the Patriots in the final quarter on a 3-yard run. Derek Johnson capped the scoring with a 3-yard touchdown run.
Enander finished with a team-high 138 yards rushing on 22 carries, while Max Gilbert added 90 yards rushing on nine carries. Johnson had six carries for 37 yards.
Enander was 8 of 10 passing for the Patriots, finishing with 69 yards through the air without and interception. Bottum had three catches for 44 yards, while Wipf had 21 yards on four catches.
Defensively, Gilbert had four solo and two assisted tackles for Hitchcock-Tulare. Bottom had three solo and four assisted tackles, while Johnson had three solo and three assisted tackles.
Tucker Gilber had an interception for the Patriots.
Hitchcock-Tulare, which is now 1-2, will face Sully Buttes in Tulare for Homecoming on Friday.
