Huron golfers compete in Brookings

BROOKINGS OGorman used a score of 295 to edge Harrisburg for the top spot during the Bill Scholten Invitational on Monday at Brookings Country Club.

Harrisburg finished at 297, which was two strokes better than Brookings.

Watertown was fourth in the 15-team event iwht a 300, while Yankton rounded out the top five at 302.

Huron finished with a 385, which put it it spot No. 15.

Harrisburgs Charlie Swift carded a 2-under-par 70 to claim the medalist honors.

Asher Dannenbring of Mitchell was second with a 71 by virtue of a scorecard playoff. Tyson Lunn of Brookings was third at 71, followed by Nick Simon of OGorman at 71.

Max Sternwedel of Watertown and Everett Morrison of Mitchell were fifth and sixth, respectively, with scores of 72.

Emrick DeDeyne led Huron with a 93, while Chase Schuhardt carded a 94.
Ty Kleinsasser and Remington Wipf turned in scores of 99.

Rounding out the lineup for the Tigers were Oliver Stansfield at 102 and Matthew Olson at 105.

Next for the Huron golfers in the Mitchell Invitational on Friday at Lakeview Golf Course.
