JVC’s Ober, C/WL’s Nesheim win titles at Webster Area

WEBSTER Kaden Ober of James Valley Christian and Kameryn Nesheim of Clark/Willow Lake won the varsity races during the Webster Area Invite on Monday at Webster Golf Club.

JVC had three of the top 22 runners in the varsity boys race.

Ober won the event for the Vikings in 18:20.74, while Levi Crandall was ninth at 19:36.90 and Giddeon Waldner was No. 22 at 21:14.34.

Will Hovde of Clark/Willow Lake also finished in the top 20, with a time of 20:57.85. He was 19th, while teammate Aksel Gjerde was 24th at 21:21.06.

Nesheim turned in a winning time of 20:40.96 to help the Clark/Willow Lake girls team to a second placed finish in the team standings with 28 points.

Aberdeen Roncalli emerged with the top spot with 25 points.

Emma Bochek was 12th for the Cyclones at 22:28.19, while Cadence Bochek was 15th at 22:32.89 and Jennifer Bevers was 17th at 22:41.44.

Johanna Vandersnick was 21st for Clark/Willow Lake at 23:12.92, while Hadasah Olson was JVCs top runner with 24:01.84 to finish in spot No. 25.

Carlson third at Arlington Invitational
ARLINGTON Case Carlson of Iroquois/Lake Preston used a time of 19:10.62 to finish third in the boys varsity race at the Arlington Invitational on Monday.

Nolan Eidson of Castlewood won the event in 18:17.62, while Caden Schwader of Howard was second at 19:06.62.

Owen Anderson of De Smet was seventha t21:05.06, while teammate Chase Temme was 11th at 21:35.28.

Gabriel Aughenbaugh and Noah Luethmers had times of 25:20.71 and 25:21.67, respectively, for De Smet.

No area runners participated in the girls varsity race.

Highmore-Harrold teams finish strong in Ipswich
IPSWICH Highmore-Harrold finished second in the boys standings and was third in the girls standings during the Ipswich Invite on Saturday.

With 26 points, the Pirates finished behind North Central, which had 16 points in the boys standings.s

Herreid/Selby Area was third at 40, followed by Mobridge-Pollock at 45, Sunshine Bible Academy at 46 and Miller at 50.

Gavin Hirsch of Herreid/Selby Area won the varsity boys race in 17:00, while Reagan Sandness of Sunshine Bible Academy was second at 18:10.

Jordan Erfman was the top runner for Highmore-Harrold at 18:23, which put him fourth, while teammate Carter Webb was 11th at 19:26.

Isaiah Gortmker of Miller was 12th at 19:33, followed y Karsten McPeak of Highmore-Harrold at 19:37.

With the top five runners in the race, Ipswich claimed the varsity girls title with 6 points. Herreid/Selby Area was second at 25, followed by Highmore-Harrold at 33 and Miller at 42.

Isabella Galbraith won the girls varsity race for Ipswich in 19:06.

Autumn Fallis was sixth for Highmore-Harrold at 20:48.

Morah Swartzendruber was the top runner for Miller at 23:39, which put her at No. 15.
