MITCHELL Members and guests from Beadle, Davison, Jerauld, and Kingsbury Counties gathered on Thursday, September 11, for a day centered on community, history, and meaningful conversation. The group began with lunch at the Bread and Vine Bistro, where participants enjoyed artisan sandwiches and salads while connecting over their shared passion for genealogy and preservation.
Following lunch, attendees visited the Carnegie Resource Center at 119 West Third Avenue in Mitchell. The afternoon included time exploring Corn Palace history displays, browsing genealogical resources, and admiring the featured art exhibits.
Visitors also had the opportunity to view Sun and Clouds and Rain Over Hills, the striking mural painted inside the Carnegie dome by Dakota Yanktonai artist Oscar Howe.
