Huron golfers compete in Mitchell Invitational

MITCHELL Using a scorecard playoff, Sioux Falls Lincoln emerged with the title against the host team on Friday during the Mitchell Invitational at Lakeview Golf Course.

Both teams finished with scores of 291 to top the 21-team field.

OGorman was a stroke back in third place, while Yankton was fourth with a 295 and Watertown was fifth at 301.

Huron finished in spot No. 20 with a 401.

Asher Dannenbring of Mitchell and Taten Mauney of OGorman both had rounds of 69, which was 3 under par.

Dannenbring won the event with a scorecard playoff.

Carter McCormick of Mitchell was third with a 70, while Eli Larson of Yankont was fourth with a 70. Tyson Blom of Sioux Falls Lincoln rounded out the top five with a 71.

Emrick DeDeyne was Hurons top golfer with a 91. He finished three strokes ahead of teammate Blake Ellwein, who was making his first outing of the season for the Tigers.

Remington Wipf and Matthew Olson had scores of 105 and 111, respectively, to cap the scoring for Huron.

David Emmert had a 116 for the Tigers, while Kale Rashaad carded a 122.
Huron will be at the Watertown Invite on Tuesday.
