JVC soccer team suffers first loss

FREEMAN Freeman Academy avenged an early loss to hand James Valley Christian its first loss of the season on Tuesday.

The Bobcats, who were edged 3-2 during the earlier meeting between the two teams, capitalized on a penalty kick to secure a 2-1 win in Tuesdays meeting.

Freeman Academy put the first point on the board in the opening half, scoring on a long throw that resulted in a goal during the 11th minute.

The Bobcats held the 1-0 advantage until Noah Fast scored on a free kick with 22 minutes remaining in the game to pull the Vikings even.

Jonah Niderbaumer had seven saves for JVC, which is now 7-1.

Freeman Academy improved to 9-1-1.

The Vikings will host West Central on Sept. 23.
