Sioux Falls teams ink soccer wins over Huron

HURON A pair of goals in the second half helped OGorman to a 2-0 victory against Huron on Tuesday at Tiger Stadium.

The Knights scored the first goal on a penalty kick in the 49th minute and added to their lead in the 59th minute.

We played a great first half, but made a couple errors in the second half that caused goals to be scored, Huron coach Leah Branaugh said.

Our goalie, Jaxon Andru, has an injury, and Klee Htoo stepped in and played a great game in goal, she said. We had a couple of new faces on defense that stepped in for injuries and did a great job Saw Htoo and Austin Htoo.

In the junior varsity game on Tuesday, the two teams played to a 1-1 draw.

Jhonatan Ordonez had the goal on an unassisted shot for Huron.

John Say had four saves in the net for the Tigers.

On Saturday, Sioux Falls Roosevelt escaped with a 3-2 victory against the Huron boys soccer team at Tiger Stadium.

After neither team could find the net in the first half, the teams combined to score five goals in the second half.

Huron coach Leah Branaugh believes here team might have let one slip through their hands.

We played a great first half. I was happy with the goals in the second half, but all three Roosevelt goals were due to fouls and our errors on the defensive end, she said.

Roosevelt scored the first goal of the game in the 44th minute.

Mister Min put the Tigers on the board in the 53rd minute on a pass from Tobias Soto Ramos.

The Rough Riders regained the advantage with goals in the 61st and 68th minutes to make it 3-1.

Min added a second goal for Huron in the 79th minute on a pass from Htee Htoo.

Jaxon Andru recorded three saves in the net for Huron, which is now 0-9-2.

The Tigers recorded a 2-0 victory in the junior varsity game against Roosevelt.

Aiden Maung and Daniel Shee had the goals for Huron, while Diego Menjivar Molina and Hei Moo Soe had assists.

John Say had four staves for the Tigers.

Sioux Falls Roosevelt recorded an 8-0 victory against Huron on Saturday at Tiger Stadium.

Wai Wai Lin had 13 saves for the Tigers in the opening half, while Moo Say had 14 saves in the second half.

The Rough Riders also had an 8-0 win in the JV girls game.

Kee Ler Paw had 12 saves in the net for Huron.
