BROOKINGS The Huron girls had a pair of runners in the top 20 during the Russ Strande Invite on Thursday at Edgebrook Golf Course in Brookings.
Lily Meyer was 13th for the Tigers at 21:48.64, while Nora Pester was 20th at 22:37.12.
Josie Vlieger was 24th for Huron at 22:43.28, while Lily Swanson was 34th at 24:04.51.
Marissa Bouwman of Sioux Falls Washington won the varsity girls race in 19:43.61, while Emily Curran of Brandon Valley was second at 19:49.16.
Brandon Valley, which had four of the top five runners finished at 57, which won the girls title. Brookings was second at 57, followed by Harrisburg at 64 and Sioux Falls Washington at 70.
Sioux Falls Washington had five runners in the top 10 to claim the boys title with 28 points. Brandon Valley was a close second at 33, followed by Brooks at 86, Watertown at 103 and Harrisburg at 121.
Mikah Peters of Brandon Valley won the varsity boys race in 15:33.91, while teammate Asher Selness was fourth at 16:18.19.
Cole Reilly of Sioux Falls Washington was second at 16:09.69, while teammate Hena Albreheam was third at 16:16.58. Rounding out the top five was Ben Parsons for the Warriors at 16:23.59.
Huron will be at the Watoma Invite in Watertown on Thursday.
