Area volleyball 10-1-25

SIOUX FALLS Hitchcock-Tulare won the championship in the White Division during the Pentagon Tournament on Saturday.

After defeating Parker-Marion and suffering a loss to Wagner in pool play, the Lady Patriots opened play in the brakc with a win against Mt. Vernon/Plankinton.

Hitchcock-Tulare then defeated Hanson to reach the championship match, where it got past Winner to claim the title.

WOLSEY Wolsey-Wessington used set wins of 25-9, 25-12 and 25-10 to sweep James Valley Christian in a 281 Conference match on Thursday.

Preslie Jensen was 12 of 13 serving with three aces for the Lady Warbirds, while Shae Uttecht was 12 of 12 with a pair of aces.

Timber Haeder led the offensive attack for Wolsey-Wessingotn with 10 kills on 23 of 26 hits. Maria Nelson had nine kills on 13 of 16 hits, hiwle Marley Boomsma was 8 of 9 attacking with five kills.

Kendal Uttecht was 59 of 60 setting with 30 assists for the Lady Warbirds. Shae Uttecht and Nelson had 17 and nine digs, respectively, while Boomsma and Jensen each had a block.

Eliana VanScharrel recorded four kills for James Valley Christian, while Katilyn Stahl had three kills and Addison Kleinsasser had a pair of kills.

Stahl had an ace serve for the Lady Vikings, while Dara Olowu-Davies had three assists.

Janiyah Waldner had a 17 digs for JVC, while Stahl had 13 digs and VanScharrel had 11 digs. Kleinsasser finished with four blocks.

De Smet 3, James Valley Christian 0
DE SMET Using set wins of 25-8, 25-13 and 25-11, De Smet swept James Valley Christian on Sept. 23.

Ivey Schoenfelder had six of the 10 ace serves in the match for the Lady Bulldogs, who improved to 11-4. Brookings Jennins had a pair of aces.

Hazel Luethmers powered De Smets attack with 15 kills, while Jennings and Schoenfelde had five and three kills, respectively. Luethmers also had four blocks.

Megan Dylla recorded 27 assists for the Lady Bulldogs. Jenning had a team-high 11 digs, while Aubree Blue and Harper Anderson finished with 8 and 6 digs, respectively.

Janiya Waldner had three aces for James Valley Christian, while Nave Gross had a pair of aces.

Gross was also the team leader for the Lady Vikings in kills, while Eliana VanScharrel and Addison Kleinsasser were also offensive leaders.

Dara Olowu-Davies was the assist leader for JVC, while VanScharrel was one of the top defenders, along with Autumn Stahl and Waldner.

Wolsey-Wessington 3, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 1
FORESTBURG Wolsey-Wessington recorded a 3-1 victory against Sanborn Central/Woonsocket on Sept. 23.

The Lady Warbirds won with set scores of 25-21, 22-25, 25-15 and 25-13.

Timber Haeder had 21 kills to lead Wolsey-Wessington, while Maria Nelson had 10 kills. Kendal Uttecht had 46 assists to go along with 13 digs and a pair of ace serves, while Shae Uttecht had a team-high 27 digs and Taylor Eichstadt had 11 digs.

Nelson also had a pair of aces for the Lady Warbirds, while Preslie Jensen and Eichstadt each had an ace.

Liz Boschee had 11 kills to lead Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (8-6), while Addison Bartholow had nine kills and Kenzie Baruth added seven kills.

Hudson Fouberg recorded a team-high 23 digs for the Lady Blackhawks, while Bartholow and Baruth each had 11 digs. Kali Hofe rhad 15 assists and two aces, while Boschee had two aces and Baruth had an ace.

Miller 3, Redfield 0
MILLER Using set scores of 25-12, 25-13 and 25-14, Miller swept Redfield on Sept. 23.

Emma Pugh was perfect on 8 serves with an ace for the Rustlers, while Kaihlyn Anderberg was 202 of 22 servnig with an ace and Jolie Palmer was 11 of 12 serving with an ace.

Kate Lichty had eight kill on 16 of 19 attacks for Miller, while Paite Werdel was 13 of 5 with six kills and Anderberg was 14 of 16 with five kills. Gracen Werden converted on 65 of 65 sets with 19 assists.

Palmer was 19 of 19 passing with eight digs for the Rustlers, who are now 9-3, while Anderberg was 7 of 7 with six digs and Pugh was 7 of 8 with six digs.

Hayden Gall had an ace, three kills and two assists for Redfield. Ceci Suchor had three kills and a team-high 10 points from the service line, while Kinley Smith had two kills to go along with four solo and two assisted blocks.

Layla Hardie also had two assists, while Katryn Evans had eight digs. Hardie also had seven digs and Charli Jungwirth had six digs.

Sunshine Bible Academy 3, Lower Brule 0
MILLER Sunshine Bible Academy used set wins of 25-15, 25-11 and 29-27 to sweep Lower Brule on Sept. 23.

Ciera Mickelson was 18 of 18 serving with seven aces for the Lady Crusaders. Dakota Boersma was 11 of 11 with three aces, while Soleil Mickelson was 6 of 7 with three aces.

Ciera Mickelson was 36 of 40 attacking with eight kills for SBA,w hile Boersma had eight kills on 18 of 21 hits. Soleil Mickelson was 17 of 22 with seven kills, while Tess Hinman had four kills on 15 of 18 spikes.

Kalyn Sarchet was 48 of 49 setting with 15 assists for the Lady Crusaders, while Breana Thieman was 27 of 28 with five assists. Ciera Mickelson had 17 digs, while Boersma had 14 digs and Soleil Mickelson added 11 digs.

Sully Buttes swept SBA 25-17, 25-21 and 25-18 on Thursday, but individual statistics were not available.
